Veterinary Surgery & Anesthesia Services at DVM Hospitals Group
When it comes to veterinary anesthesia and surgery, we take every precaution for your pet’s health, safety, and comfort. Our veterinarians are highly experienced in all routine surgeries such as pet spaying and neutering, as well as most advanced surgical procedures involving the eyes, ears, skin, abdominal organs and tissues, and urinary tract. No anesthesia or surgery is performed without you express written consent, and all patients requiring general anesthesia receive a pre-anesthetic exam and a pre-anesthetic blood panel. Sedation and local anesthesia are used whenever possible. All anesthetized patients are placed on IV fluids and have staff dedicated to monitoring their vital signs throughout surgery and recovery. A postoperative pain management program is established for all surgical patients to ease recovery.
Veterinary Surgery encompasses:
- Elective Pet Surgery includes routine pet spaying and neutering of puppies and kittens, minor hernia repair, as well as cat declawing with a laser surgical option.
- General Pet Surgery – We perform an extensive range of general dog and cat surgeries. Typically, these veterinary surgeries require general anesthesia. Patients may go home the same day or may require 1-2 days in the hospital. The veterinarian will advise you in each case before proceeding.
- Laparoscopic Surgery allows for minimally invasive surgery. Through small incisions, scoping, and special instrumentation, our veterinarians can collect tissue for pathology, while avoiding full exploratory surgery and extended postop hospitalization.
- Laser Surgery – We use CO2 laser technology on a select basis as an aid to surgical intervention. The laser "brushes" away microscopic layers of diseased tissue to reveal the healthy tissue underneath.
